The core of Philippe Starck”s creativity process, a journey through the subconscious of a great designer of our era.
Since the establishment of his studio, Ubik, in 1979, Philippe Starck has conceived more than 10,000 projects, and every single one of them has had the same principle: they must be at the disposal of the users. The object has to be “fair” and “to provide a service” – as functional as emotional. Starck embodies a democratic way of designing by asking himself: Why does this object deserve to be? He”s a committed creator that belongs to an ever-changing contemporary world. That is why, forexample, he has been a long-time defender of an ecological creative process.This catalogue, which follows the exhibition held at the Centre Pompidou Malaga, brings us right to the core of Starck”s creative process – drawings, sketches, researches, and, of course, his most iconic objects.
